⭐ A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM - LIDO 2 PARIS ⭐
What a bawdy affair! ! ! 😂
I was lucky enough to catch the
@LidoParis revival of Sondheim's A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, during my recent trip to Paris ✨
I'd previously seen their fantastic Cabaret revival earlier this year and knew had to catch this one, when it was announced. 😱
This was a very different Sondheim for me, it felt like Sondheim by way of a Carry On film lol Silly and saucy! ! ! 😉
Boasting a fabulous cast, headed by Rufus Hound, who is deliciously cheeky here as Pseudolus, a slave who is trying to get freed by his owner, by helping them in their quest for love. Josh St. Clair was delightfully ditsy as Hero, with his love interest Philia, played wonderfully by Neima Naouri. Other standouts include John Owen-Jones as the Fabio-haired Miles Gloriosus and Andrew Pepper as the straight-laced Hysterium. 🎭
Special mention of the ensemble who provide many an amusing moment throughout the show lol 😅
The Lido2Paris have went all out here with this lavish revival, befitting of the recently refurbished venue, which is GORGEOUS. Beautiful costumes by Takis, lovely lighting by Giuseppe di Iorio but especially the set design by Tim Hatley, which provided a particularly breathtaking moment, involving a water fountain - You'll know what I mean when you see it! 💦
I definitely recommend Sondheim fans go see the rarely produced farce if you can, this stellar revival is a bit weird and wonderful, I'm glad I got to see it. Can't wait to see what the
@LidoParis has in store next! ! ! 🌟 X x x
