Today, @FemWiseAfrica Women Mediators convened a reflective session marking 25 years of #UNSCR1325, taking stock of progress, persistent challenges, and emerging priorities for women’s mediation in Africa. Interventions by Pezu Mukwakwa, Chafiaa Djouadi and Pétronille Vaveka Rutaya reaffirmed that transformative and sustainable peace is impossible without women’s leadership. African women mediators continue to shape dialogue, prevent conflicts, and build bridges across communities. @FemWiseAfrica reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the role of African women mediators, and expanding pathways for their meaningful inclusion in peace processes across the continent. #FemWiseAfrica #UNSCR1325

Honoured to meet Ms. @ahunnaeziakonwa at a Women Leaders Dialogue. As a proud #AfYWL Fellow, I was inspired by her insights on mentoring future women leaders and how the #AfYWL initiative, a @UNDP program, is driving impact in this regard. #WomenLeaders #SDG5 #GenderEquality

The crisis in eastern DRC is at a dangerous point. Thousands of people displaced and at risk. A critical humanitarian situation could get even worse. We’re allocating US$17 million from @UNCERF for immediate aid. My remarks to the #UNSC ⬇️ unocha.org/news/scale-suffer…

We unveil one of three covers for the 2nd Ed of #InsoseloNaMapinda The covers celebrate the timeless and versatile chitenge, woven as deeply into our daily existence as the proverb: cradling a child on the mother’s back, concealing contraband, gracing ceremonies, mourning loss, and finally, serving as a shroud in life’s final farewell. The book comes in paperback, available end of Jan in local bookstores, shipped 🌏 We are excited to announce that we have an eBook version that is super cute 😊 and will be available in a few days.
