When the moment calls for leadership, you roll up your sleeves and get to work because our children are worth it.
I want to thank @CouncilmemberKJ Kenyatta Johnson and every member of @phlcouncil, Superintendent @watlington_sr and the team at @PHLschools, @PHLschoolboard and Board President Reginald Streater, and our advocates, educators, labor partners, and everyone who stayed at the table and worked through the tough conversations to deliver for Philadelphiaâs students.
Together, we protected 340 school-based positions and made a shared commitment to finding a dedicated, recurring source of local funding for our schools.
This is what partnership looks like. This is what One Philly looks like.
Philadelphiaâs students are making extraordinary progress. The Class of 2026 alone earned nearly $450 million in scholarship offers. We cannot afford to lose that momentum.
We are united. We are committed. And we are ready to keep working together to secure the resources our schools need and the opportunities our children deserve.
