The SNP Dunblane & Bridge of Allan Facebook page put out a long description of the hustings in Dunblane on Tuesday evening.
By and large, they described the meeting pretty well as it happened – I was there, obviously.
But they could not resist the opportunity to have a go at Eva Comrie, the Alliance to Liberate Scotland candidate. God forbid we should actually call for independence when the SNP has procrastinated, made other issues more important, and will continue to do so.
What is it that the SNP finds so terrible about anyone calling for independence? – It IS a one-issue party, dedicated to that which the SNP left behind long ago.
Why? – They seem to be running scared.
Eva’s very first statement was to thank Keith Brown for his help over her health problems some years ago, and during the evening, she never once criticised Keith, other than the SNP’s tardiness in moving towards independence.
She made no ‘mad rants’ as described by the SNP post, only promoting independence as the SNP should be doing.
Keith was also very pleasant the whole evening; the only point I would criticise him on was his “both votes SNP” comment. He is not a stupid man, in fact, I had a very amicable word with him after the meeting to thank him for his contribution, but he knows as we all do, that in Mid Scotland & Fife Region, especially, an SNP vote on the regional or list vote is completely wasted and can only elect a unionist.
I despair for the SNP Dunblane as it has become; it had to unite with the Bridge of Allan branch to keep going.
It has me blocked from commenting on its posts, as has Yes Stirling, supposedly an all-party group, but in essence run by and a totally controlled SNP subsidiary.
So, deny the nonsense from the SNP locally, and put your trust in a woman who will, if elected, do what it says on the tin. Independence. Nothing less. Nothing else.
