The US dollar usually gains when inflation is high. And when geopolitical tension rises, money typically flows into dollar safe-havens. Right now both things are true simultaneously. And the dollar isn't moving cleanly in either direction. That's what can happen when the source of the geopolitical risk and the safe-haven currency are the same country. 📉 SMCI is down over 70% from all-time highs and price has just reached a multi-year support zone that buyers have defended since May 2023. 🔑 Three levels define the picture: 📍 $51.40: bull trigger, sustained close needed 📍 $20–$30: the zone, $27.50 supply overhang inside 🎯 $5: only in play on a break below $20 ⚠️ A $7bn equity offering at $27.50 sits inside the support zone. A master fund built from independent traders carries a risk that is easy to miss. The managers can drift into the same position without ever coordinating. Different models, different signals, the same net exposure on the same day. Independence on paper does not guarantee independence in a drawdown. Two systems with genuinely different logic can both end up long the dollar into the same print. Their edges are unrelated. Their risk, that afternoon, is the same risk. This is why allocation is more than picking good strategies. A serious fund runs a portfolio overlay. When managers correlate more than their mandates suggest, the fund hedges the shared exposure at the book level. The underlying strategies keep running untouched. The trader carries on trading their system. The overlay handles what happens when many independent systems accidentally agree. That separation is what turns a collection of track records into a portfolio an investor can actually hold. Correlation and Divergence monitoring are not administrative detail. They are the risk architecture that lets real capital sit on top of independent traders without inheriting a single hidden bet.

Semis just had one of their best sessions in years — and an Intel double upgrade lit the fuse. Bank of America upgraded Intel ( 9.3%) from underperform to buy with a significant price target hike. AMD 8%, Micron 11.7% followed. Nvidia closed 2.2%, while chip equipment names went further: Applied Materials 11.2%, Lam Research 12.7%, KLA 12.9%, ASML 9.5%. Oracle (-9%) slumped despite an earnings and revenue beat — the market didn't like plans to raise $20bn in additional equity and debt for its AI buildout. That selloff actually helped lift equipment makers. Space stocks surged ahead of SpaceX's market debut — Rocket Lab 9.3%, Intuitive Machines 15.5%, Redwire 14.9%, AST SpaceMobile 11.7%, Viasat 18.2% (awarded a multi-year U.S. Space Force contract), Virgin Galactic 21.7%. Defense: General Dynamics 5.2% on a Jefferies upgrade to buy. Adobe (-6.3%, -5.6% after-hours) fell despite an earnings beat — CFO departure in days. Meme stocks: Beyond Meat 3.2%, Kohl's 9.1%, Krispy Kreme 7.7%, AMC 8.8%, BlackBerry 5.2%, Nokia 5.3% Crypto stocks: Coinbase 4.2%, MicroStrategy 4.2%, Mara Holdings 7.8%, Gemini Space Station 7.4%, Bullish 5.4%, Circle Internet Group 4.7% 💬 Which sector do you think leads from here — semis, space, or defense? 🔍 AMD → trading.capital.com/4vQ6YtT
