Saw a guy wearing a @kcroyals hat down here on the MS Gulf Coast. We shared an excited short conversation, thanking the baseball gods for not making us wait 30 years for October baseball.

The back-to-school anxiety has been compounded by an unexpected car repair bill…& termites. How is it only Tuesday?

It might be wise to acknowledge that most of back to school PD is sit and get policies and procedures. Not new ideas or approaches.
I have mixed feelings about the “back to school PD” discourse. On the one hand, it kinda sucks that so many educators seem to be fairly hostile to new ideas, approaches, methods, etc. On the other, I’ve also sat through my share of useless, patronizing PD—so I kinda get it? 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m not impressed with Biden’s performance. But not impressed with Trump either.

WONDERFUL. & how exactly will us normies do this?
💡LISTEN UP—I would start STOCKPILING these flu medicines (xofluza, relenza, Tamiflu) for your family STARTING NOW. If bird flu is ever human-to-human transmissible… you will regret it when near-certain shortage hits. (Many epidemiologists/MD friends all agree & already started)

We were lazy for a week. Today summer productivity began. I weeded two flower beds, took a load of junk to the community dumpster, & we bathed the dogs. Now for a nap before heading to the Sner’s for a swim & more yard work.

Someone I respect said this evening that Biden is in a greater state of mental decline than Trump & that poor man that they’re making do this. Ma’am. Have you listened to a Trump speech lately? Seriously. They are essentially the same age.

This. To me it feels like we’ve forgotten that the teacher-student relationship is in fact a relationship that can be caring and compassionate and empathetic…without crossing any lines.

I used to go all the time by myself. Most of the time I was fine but I did have some tally creepy run-ins with men while hiking and/or getting supplies for camp.

I don’t understand how or why we’ve forgotten this. We’re part of a society; it’s not all about the individual.
Replying to @DrJenGunter
Public schools serve the public good, like fire and police. It's not about your individual family, but rather making sure everyone has access to education, humanities, STEM, and the ability to engage critically with the big ideas. We all benefit.

I don’t know how the husband did it, but I can watch my @Royals play! My FIL (a HUGE @msstate fan) & I are bonding over games & State players. When we won the Series a few years ago, my FIL supported the Royals because why not? Now he’s a fan ;)

To go along with this…my laundry game changed when I bought more baskets & hangers for the laundry room so as soon as the dryer is done, things get folded or hung immediately. Now, the husband might take 2 weeks to get his things but it’s not piled up stressing me out.
This is boring but I can't stop thinking about my sister's friend who gives all her kids a net bag to put dirty socks and underwear in and then washes and tumble dries the whole bag and returns them complete. No sorting, no odd socks, easy peasy. I'm buying some net bags!

When you were the last one with remote & now you can’t find it….(I’ve moved the couch, pulled up all the cushions) Listening to an audio book but I really wanted to mindlessly watch tv to decompress from these last few weeks. Guess it’s time to break out St. Tony…

We are day 2 of no water. The cafeteria cannot function. We cannot flush toilets. Why are we here?

Anxiety is through the roof today. It’s been increasing & I spoke to my doctor about it last week. Last week I had my “I can’t do this” moment…& even though I’m in track, I feel like it’s a snowball headed down hill.

Probably once a week at our school - because it is so damn old - our water system goes down & an announcement is made that teachers can’t let students use the water fountains. Now what?
The children's water bottle phenomenon needs to stop. It's a transitional object like linus' disgusting blanket. Grow up! Use a water fountain.

What is this speech? She’s gone from smiling like a beauty queen to this angry, judgemental harpy…while whispering. WTF? She’s ridiculous.

I should be parsing behavior data to get ready for the 4 MDRs I have to do over the next 2 days.

This asshole here. Teachers are not responsible for the conditions under which they work. Asshokes like Mr. Boddington forget that their situation isn’t everyone’s (what high school or middle school teacher has an assistant)? He can get the fuck out with his bullshit. x.com/misterbodd/status/1754…
