🔥 Vitalik recently shared a new idea for building stablecoins on Ethereum. Instead of the current way — where you deposit ETH, borrow dollars against it, and risk getting liquidated if the price drops — he suggests splitting the ETH into two tokens. One token works like a stable dollar with much lower risk of big losses. The other token takes the upside when ETH goes up. These two tokens always add up to the original ETH, so there’s no debt and no forced liquidation when prices fall. This approach could become a new trend in DeFi. It trades a small amount of price drift for a much safer and simpler system that doesn’t rely on constant price monitoring or sudden liquidations. Ethereum has always moved forward because of people and teams willing to try new ideas early. We need more projects experimenting with concepts like this to help the ecosystem grow stronger.

Unpopular opinion: $SPCX is more speculative than $MSTR. People buy SpaceX because they think it will go to the moon (or Mars). The company does not generate much revenue and does not hold enough assets to justify the valuation. Elon has to continue exceeding expectations for SpaceX to do well. People buy MSTR because they believe in the capital structure that is already in place. Math just needs to keep mathing for Strategy to do well. I trust Elon but I trust math more.

Most $MSTR bears simply misunderstand Bitcoin and don’t think it can outperform the cost of capital.

I wrote an essay on what the CENTS Mint Years actually tell you – but most people won’t read an essay. ;-) So I turned the core of it into something you grasp in one second. Every CENT detail page now has a mint-year timeline. The trick: each era is sized by how many CENTS actually exist from it – not by calendar spacing. So 1910–1969 (60 years) is a thin sliver, because only 21.25% of the collection is that old. A marker drops the coin you’re looking at onto the bar. A 1938 lands hard left in the rare zone; a 1981 sits in the wide 1980s block. Rarity you can see, not just read.

Coinbase just handed AI agents the keys to your trading account. Yesterday they launched "Coinbase for Agents," which connects agents like Claude or ChatGPT directly to your @Coinbase account. Your agent can now read your portfolio AND place the trades (save this). Some of what's possible on day one: You give it a target allocation (say 60% $BTC, 20% $ETH, 20% $SOL) and tell it to set limit orders at 5%, 10%, and 15% dips so you build the position gradually. Or you ask it to find the best DCA window. It pulls 30 days of hourly price data, finds when $ETH historically trades cheapest, and sets a recurring $20 buy at that hour every day. It can also watch your idle cash around the clock and put it to work earning rewards. Worried about giving an AI full access to your portfolio? Your Coinbase agent can live in an isolated portfolio with zero visibility into your other holdings, where it only touches what you've explicitly permissioned. Soon you'll be able to set hard caps too: Max trade size, what it can interact with, how much it can spend. Coinbase compares it to giving your agent a gift card instead of your bank account. Every payment also runs through the same KYT and transaction monitoring as the rest of Coinbase. What's coming next: Stocks, index funds, prediction markets, and commodities. If it trades on Coinbase, they want your agent trading it. Plus x402 payments, so your agent can buy its own data and services to inform trades - and a remote MCP that connects with just a Coinbase sign-in, no API keys. They also dropped Coinbase Advisor, an AI advisor inside the Coinbase app that's registered with the SEC and CFTC. Coinbase has been building toward this since AgentKit in 2024, then x402 last year. The bet being that people swill stop using apps and start using agents. (With Coinbase becoming the account those agents plug into.)
