Today Nokia corporation assigned the copyrights of the Plan 9 Operating System to the Plan 9 Foundation bell-labs.com/institute/blog…. P9F has relicensed Plan 9 with the MIT license, and made the 1st through 4th editions available at p9f.org/dl.
9p2000.L made some fairly terrible mistakes, for one example, read on a dir should return an array of Stat structs, and does not. This makes using it from Plan 9 inefficient to say the least (Harvey can mount 9p2000.L).
We have officially announced the formation of the Plan 9 Foundation. Its charter is to promote and further the development of Plan 9 and related technologies for lightweight distributed systems. p9f.org
Merry Christmas y'all! Look what Santa has brought me this year: github.com/rvs/node9/blob/ma…#Lua and @Plan9_OS -- two of my favorite things rolled into one gorgeous present!
#plan9#riscv status:
• 32 and 64 bit kernels & cmd's are working under tinyemu
• 64 bit kernel is booting on hardware, still being debugged
• 32 bit kernel is untested on hardware because we don't have access to an RV32 core with MMU
(1/2)
• riscv compiler is available on 9p.io/contrib/miller, and has been added to the #inferno distribution on bitbucket
• tinyemu port will go onto 9p.io/contrib/miller this weekend
• sources will be released when cleaned up and ready
