When fathers lead, girls rise. In Bardiya, fathers are breaking long-held silence around adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights by choosing to learn and speak up. Chetnath is one of these champion fathers. He supports his daughter’s sexual and reproductive health and rights by listening openly, sharing accurate information and standing by her choices as she grows. For him, being a father means protecting her rights, not controlling her voice. His leadership is shifting attitudes at home and in the community. When fathers like Chetnath champion their daughters’ SRHR, girls feel safer, more confident and better able to shape their own futures.
