Harris has proposed giving $6,000 (via refundable tax credit) to families in the 1st year of a baby's life.
Flint, Michigan has been doing exactly that for the past year. The results are incredible:
-Fewer babies born with low birthweight
-No families evicted in baby 1st year
-Less hunger
-Fewer moms smoking
-A sense of "hope" among parents

It always works extremely well to just directly reduce child poverty, and the younger the bigger the lifelong impact.
I wish there was more focus on expanding the child tax credit for kids older than 1 though.

Rural America is more than white, conservative, or Republican.
It also consists of Black folks who have power. Black rural voters have consistently voted for the Democratic Party at rates of 90% or more.
