Reminder: my reviews should not be taken as gospel. I am one person with one set of preferences, one set of ears & one set of experiences. You should ALWAYS get multiple opinions on audio gear before buying. Also, the job of gear is to make stuff. So make stuff w/ what you have.

The reason I’ve been publishing sporadically is I now have obligations on Tues, Wed, Thur night, and all day Sat, and Sun. So I only have 2 nights free to work on stuff. I’m still slowly working on videos but I’ve struggled to keep up once per week.

RIP Tomas Lindberg, the singer of the greatest metal band of all time; At the Gates. Metal lost another one of the GOATs. “Go!”

Todd fought extremely hard to push podcasting forward and there will never be another one like him. Rest in peace.

It is with broken hearts that we share the devastating news that our founder and CEO, Todd Cochrane, has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61. Todd wasn’t just the founder of Blubrry — he was the heart and soul of our community. blubrry.com/podcast-insider/…

Anyone else stoked to hear some more RIBBON, or is it just me!? The fun part is going to be M/S technique with the @beyerdynamic M130 & M160!

I've been called a lot of nasty and hurtful things over the years, but "streamer" hurts the most.

Calling all audio folks. Yesterday I fried my UA X8. I setup my backup UA Twin X and today fried the inputs of that as well. All I can think is the mic sent static electricity into the preamp circuit. Has anyone experience this before? youtube.com/watch?v=X4U0Wxa_…

@UAudio is this something that's even possible? I can't think of any other way that I would fry two preamp sections of two UA interface within 24 hours. It's a dynamic mic that is passive and phantom power was off. Thanks.

Curtis must be lying! Nothing recorded below 32-bit float is acceptable or can even sound good!

ALT I Don'T Believe You April Fools Day GIF

I listened to a recording that was made and mixed in 2002, and it sounded really, really good. Then I realized it couldn’t have been recorded in 32-bit float.

Today marks 10 years of publishing reviews on Podcastage. YouTube may not be how I earn a living, but it has undeniably changed my life for the better. I could not ask for a better hobby or a better community in the world. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! God willing, here's to 10 more!

Do NOT do this to your podcast audio...or maybe do do it, I don't care, I'm not your dad.

TELL ME TO MY FACE THAT MY PODCAST AUDIO NEEDS IMPROVEMENT! Them is fighting words! ps: I know it's just a spammer, but I'm going to face them in a steel cage match.

Today marks 10 years since I gave up drinking. Had I not done that, I likely wouldn't have started making YouTube videos. It's still one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Exactly! The color grading in my videos (which I 100% totally do, and I definitely don't just use the video right out of the camera) is all over the place as a creative choice!
20 Dec 2024
Color grading is a subjective choice that many people want to treat as a technical decision because everyone has access to DaVinci Resolve now. You can’t be an expert in something that has no definitive rules - "you need natural skin tones" - Why? You wonder why everything starts to look the same? It's because a lot of filmmakers are shamed into making things look "correct" instead of simply realizing their vision. I wish more filmmakers took more liberties with color (and cameras) like Steven Soderbergh has over the years.

It's inappropriate for a company to take clips from review videos and use them as advertisements. Just don't do that.

We must adopt the hive mind. Dissent will not be accepted.
Some people need a reminder that just because a person has a different opinion about a headphone than you do, it doesn't mean they are literally Satan.
