Prisons might be full, but there is no reason we can’t give more severe non-custodial punishments to dangerous criminals. I’d take away most of these people’s right to drive for the rest of their lives.

The impact of paying off junior doctors are just starting to be felt
🚨 BREAKING: GPs in England have voted to strike over funding for the first time in 60 years   More than 8,500 GPs took part in the ballot and 98.3% voted in favour This could see GPs limit the amount of patients they see each day to 25

Fantastic to join the @iealondon last night to discuss the future of the right. Heartened by the clear agreement in the room that we need to prioritise better economic opportunities for working-age people if we're to regain their trust and support
📺 If you couldn't join us last night, the full panel discussion is now up on YouTube! 👉 Watch here: youtube.com/watch?v=kSHv9Pva…

Rachel Reeves, FT, 14 June: “We’ve got the OBR now... You don’t need to win an election to find out [the state of the public finances].” Rachel Reeves, BBC, today: “I don’t think anyone realised quite how bad things were.” That sound you can hear is tax rises, coming your way.

For all the talk of reducing sentencing, we're still far too lax on serious offenders, and on those who've committed large numbers of crimes. Some horrifying examples from @edwest , who's consistently sensible on this topic. edwest.co.uk/p/addicted-to-p…

RT @Simon_ClarkeUK: House prices in England are now 9️⃣x average earnings. In the nineties they were 4️⃣x average earnings. Yes, we must…

Completely right from @NextGenTories. Yes we lost votes to Reform, but we lost an awful lot to Labour and the Lib Dems too. We won't be a successful party again unless we can offer working-age people better life prospects
Over the coming weeks we’ll set out our case for where the Conservative Party must go next. The scale of the defeat means Conservatives can no longer attempt to double down on the pensioner vote alone. A short thread on how we win young people back, and why it matters 🧵

Conservatives are 4th with 25-34s, and 30 points behind with 35-44s. Knocking on doors, if someone under 45 answers your gut says they’re against. Thats not sustainable. Every single leadership contender needs a clear plan to fix it.

Congratulations to @BenGoldsborough on winning South Norfolk, who I'm sure will do a very good job. Thank you to all the Conservatives who campaigned, and who gave me their vote. I look forward to being part of rebuilding our party, and earning back voters' trust
