On this I agree completely, but it IS more complicated that just political parties. It's the whole economic system, which has made governments beholden to wealth. It's plutocracy. This is why I would argue that corporate lobbying and donations above £1000 should be outlawed.

🚨🇬🇧 The police failed Henry Nowak. He had been stabbed. He told them. They handcuffed him, arrested him, and told him he was making it up. That conduct was indefensible, and it is being investigated. His father asked for one thing: that Henry's murder not be used "to create further hatred, division or tension." Within hours, they did the opposite. Two of them are sitting MPs. Nigel Farage addressed the nation: "White lives matter too." Reform's official account, which he reposted, said white people's rights matter less than those of ethnic minorities. He told the country to respond with "pure cold rage." Rupert Lowe demanded that "any Indian who covered up for Vickrum Digwa must be immediately deported." Digwa is British. You cannot deport British citizens. The qualifier was "any Indian." Tommy Robinson called a protest, posted "White Lives Matter," and reached for crime statistics about Black people. Digwa is a Sikh. They called him an immigrant, an Indian, a Brown man, a Sikh, a stand-in for Black crime figures. They could not agree what he was. They agreed on one thing: he wasn't white. Henry's father asked them not to turn his son into this. They were never listening to him.

Wrong. The civil service is there to make sure law and processes set in law are followed. You are another one with no idea what the civil service actually does. Governments that don't care for rules and law always complain about the civil service. Be careful what you wish for.

3/ @WasAcop This is precisely why officers are trained to not go into a crowd to arrest without support. So yes, it all could have been managed better, without the various assaults that followed. If you are honest with yourself, you know I am right.

2/ @WasAcop The suspect did not however, escape conviction for his assault on the two female officers. There is a question around the immediate phsyicality of the male arresting officer (hand on neck) and the failure of the all the officers to secure the scene.

Indeed. He has no business demnding anytihng from the disabed man in the first place. He also ripped a patch off his wheelchair. So there was an assault already happening. Powell then clearly produces a weapon to defend himself. He's in a wheelchair. Sentence should be longer.

That's not evidence that offending rates are higher amonst people who identify as trans than the general population. It's anecdotal cherry picking. I am asking for data. You won't be able to find any that supports your prejudice.

History tells us that every empire has its day, the problem for the US is that they thought they could ignore China, who quietly secured all the mineral rights and assets it required by negotiating deals, now the US can only try and secure their needs by force.

Despite internet shut off by the regime, a few videos received tonight. Here is the very start of the protests Tehran & Mashhad 8pm. Despite threats of being annihilated by the IRGC, absolutely no let up from the people of Iran #IranianRevolution2026
