We unleash the power of children and young people so that they can build happy and fulfilling lives. Home of the award-winning Teens & Toddlers programme.
As part of London Challenge Poverty Week, we want to highlight Zainab’s story. Zainab participated in our Teens and Toddlers programme when she was 17 and now, at 25, she is one of our Programme Assistants.

Dear young people,
What you’re seeing on social media and in the news might be scary and it’s ok to feel sad, angry, upset or worried – the adults in your life might be feeling the same way too.
But hate never wins. It never has and it never will.

Even if you can’t do all the good that the world needs, the world still needs all the good that you can do – so continue to be kind, look out for each other and don’t bottle up how you feel.

🧵: On Power2 Thrive we often see wonderful (and often unlikely!) friendships blossom.
The programme involves young people becoming mentors to children in a local nursery which encourages the young people to find different ways to communicate with the younger children.
One of the teachers at the primary school said, “Jermarie had such a kind, gentle and understanding way with his mentee. He was always so excited to see him each week and would tell me about the things they both had planned. He is a natural with young children.”
Jermarie said, “I liked going to the nursery and playing in the sandpit. It was great hanging out with the children. I helped my mentee to manage his feelings.”
Well done, Jermarie!
