Farm client showing me the yield map today. Can you see where the manure was applied? … Here’s what’s cool! The manure was applied 20 years ago!

Where do all the weeds come from? I know where! Every Aussie I’ve toured around says, “You Canadians are good farmers, but your fence line management is sh*t!” Employ a different strategy.

A sales rep selling biological products told a farmer “Matt is just a chemistry guy and it’s all synthetic all the time and he doesn’t believe in biology” Nope Show me someone more passionate about manure/compost and rotation diversity. This foundation is biology champion!

Tell me your recommendation for 80bu malt barley. My rec doesn't have any P or K. Client being pushed on $35-40/ac on a PK & a splash of all micro's because there's less salt... but not less salt than NO fertilizer.

Fall crops in southern Alberta are under great stress and way ahead of schedule.
Important to recognize, wet conditions and planting delays are a regional issue in western Canada. Now, with 30-35 degree temperatures, dryness becoming a concern elsewhere.

Is there any “biological” product out there that’s better than manure?

This is what canola stubble should look like. 5-6 pl/sqft with a TRUNK of a stem.

I know BioSul was applied here. Great news! This little chuck isn’t hurting anything. Not sure what the acre meter is at across the Prairies, but I’m sure it’s north of 4M acres now. It works. It’s usually the most economical $/lb product on the market. Win win. Happy seeding!

Because I love helping farmers and people that help farmers, I’ve been asked a few times this week about a fantastic machine shop in Strathmore that supplies probes and tips for a fraction of the price, especially with American currency involved. Send me a DM for contact info.
