ALT CAPS is located in Brotman Hall Office 226, located next to Maxson Plaza and the "Go Beach" traffic circle. Call CAPS at 562-985-4001 if you need assistance finding their office, or to make an appointment.

ALT CAPS Services are individual counseling, group counseling, crisis counseling, group workshops, case management, drop-in community spaces, and Let’s Talk. Counseling services you receive at CAPS are confidential. Counseling services are for enrolled students. All of our services are free to students.

ALT Crisis counseling is for students that are experiencing an emergency or have an urgent matter that prevents them from carrying on their day like normal. They are able to visit the CAPS office Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, to see a crisis counselor in person. Crisis counseling is available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To get connecting to a crisis counselor via phone, please call 562-985-4001. A student may also text "Beach" to 741-741 to connect with a crisis volunteer. Please note, this service is not affiliated with CAPS.
