Back in my days mass layoffs happened due to plain greed and mismanagement.
Now it's all: children stopped buying hats on Fortnite and the Fed is keeping interest rates high so Saudi Arabia backed off from an investment and therefore Bandcamp, the only good website, is fucked

Check this out! It's the original unaired pilot episode of ALF. This episode (which was edited into the aired version with reshot scenes) puts more attention on the Tanners. ALF doesn't even appear until the 7-minute mark, unlike in the aired version!

I’ve been thinking about this and it’s a quietly radicalizing realization that rapacious profit seeking has hollowed out so much of what’s fun and community enhancing in our society. So many things just stopped existing because they don’t return 300% to awful people.

Shout Factory TV has a free 24/7 stream of ALF, newly restored and uncut. Sometimes they run an episode of DVD commentary w/ ALF talking about working on the show. Right now they are showing my favorite episode, the one with the giant space roach. Great to hear ALF talk about it.
