ALT The team at Kobold Press is disappointed in the lack of user advocacy here on X (formerly Twitter) and is frustrated by Xβs recent announcement of policy changes surrounding AI. A few weeks ago we pledged to keep the humanity in our hobby; that pledge was a promise to maintain a hard stance against generative AI. Today we are putting that pledge into action. Going forward we will be posting on X only for major company announcements, product launches, and similar updates. We will stop including media in our posts and will remove media from our profile to ensure we are not contributing to AI program development.

Remember when Nintendo wasnβt doing so well off the back of Wii U and 3DS launch, and in order to prevent layoffs the then-CEO Saturo Iwata took a 50% pay cut.
Thatβs leadership.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is getting a pay raise of $30 million. The news comes after the company laid off over 2,500 employees from the gaming division since January 2024 along with the closures of Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks.

If anything made by AI is created for Star Wars canon I will wholly exclude it from my headcanon and never give it any money. I will not discuss it. It will not be considered at all. I love this galaxy because of the sheer amount of *artists* who pour their talents into it.

Disney will reportedly announce a huge AI initiative that will βtransform its creative outputβ with a focus on post-production and visual effects.
AI will also be integrated into Disneyβs parks & experiences business in some way.

It's so cool how everything from prescription drugs to McDonald's to frozen waffles is contaminated now. It's almost like government regulations were the only thing keeping manufacturers from cutting costs and poisoning us.
