Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️½ #Governor is a RAW, GROUNDED, ROOTED, SUSPENSEFUL thriller, headed by the masterful performance by #ManojBajpayee, what a film, what a performance. Definitely one of the best films for me until this time of the year. I was gripped most of the time. Director #ChinmayMandlekar handles the film with UTMOST AUTHORITY. With just a few loopholes and predictability here and there, which keeps the rating tight to 3.5/5, keeping the negatives aside, there is a lot to talk regarding the positives starting with the performances. #ManojBajpayee has SMASHED THE BALL OUT OF THE PARK with his performance, he has simply lived the character, the mannerisms, the emotions, the discipline, he has put his soul into it. The film is inspired by true events and is handled with utmost care, the world is created right of that era, and you are taken back in time. Thanks to how raw, rooted, and grounded the film is. The film has been given an extremely realistic treatment to make it look worthy, and it has passed over there with extremely flying colors. The screenplay is tight and engaging, you will be glued throughout, and this is the film which doesn't take much time to directly diving into the core story, spot on character development in the first few minutes, and bang, the core story revolves around, this is what such a film demanded, a tight edit, and it got it. The urgency and the eagerness to know, that what will happen next, which events to unfold was throughout me during the runtime, this speaks volumes, that the thriller inspired by true events should generate this type of eagerness across the audience. The film is packed with extremely well written dialogues, I literally clapped on a couple of them. The writing is tight. A few emotional moments too during the second half, which are personal and familiar, they will win you over. Overall, this is SUCH A GOOD FILM, and finally a good film has arrived after a series of averages. It should definitely grow and sustain owing to positive word of mouth. #AdahSharma is decent, and does well at the end. The rest of the cast has also performed well.
