Stop waiting for the myth of buy-in. Behavior precedes belief. Do it - measure the results - and onlh then ask for buy-in. If you wait for buy-in from everyone, we wil have this debate in 50 years.
Grades are not earned.
When we push that narrative we make grades a transactional currency related to work.
School is not about work.
School is about learning.
That is all.
Bad bosses punish time off. They see vacations as a lack of dedication to work.
Good bosses grant time off. They see vacations as a source of energy for work.
Great bosses insist on time off. They see vacations as a right, not a reward—they care about your life beyond work.
Steps to mastery of a skill: 1. acquisition (I did it once) 2. fluency (I can do it consistently) 3. maintenance (I can keep doing it) 4. transfer (I can use it in new ways) (Hanson, et al., 1978) and still true. #LeadInclusion#SpecialEducation#EdChat#UDL#Inclusion

Changing your mind is not a sign of losing integrity. It's often a mark of gaining wisdom.
Realizing you were wrong doesn't mean you lack judgment. It means you lacked knowledge.
Opinions are what you think today. Growth comes from staying open to revising your views tomorrow.
Had a massive aha with @PeterMDeWitt … been using the school improvement plan to comply. Starting the 23-24 work now and making it meaningful thanks to you, DeWitt!
Recently I had two incredibly opposite conversations with two different teachers. Teacher 1: principals have no place in curriculum or pedagogy… Teacher 2: no one should ever take away the principals leadership with curriculum & pedagogy. Which teacher do you relate to and why?
While I don’t teach early childhood and I’m not a leader in this realm- I’ll buy this book because it’s my personal and profession goal to own every single book written by @DFISHERSDSU & @NancyFrey
Had 3rd sub ask if I have any positions open. They love our kids. They love our staff. We don’t indoctrinate. Focus is on students. You feel it when you walk in the door. I push back on practices and people that try to change that. #NoApology#CultureAndClimate#Efficacy
Although a transition to inclusive schooling is complex and requires adequate supporting resources, it must be treated with urgency. Our schools can never be equitable so long as there are still classrooms where only students who have IEPs are served. #LeadInclusion#EdChat#UDL
After 2 days of impactful and meaningful learning at the PLC conference, I’m snuggling up to a book. Believe it or not ya’ll this is what I call reading for pleasure. @CorwinPress
Just because @peter_dewitt518 isn’t here in person doesn’t mean he isn’t here in spirit and in print! This teacher asked me what book she should read among the many books to select from @corwin_press and your book on collective leader efficacy was it, DeWitt!
Always grateful to learn from the heroes in the field & @domsmithRP is the type of leader and principal I DREAM to be! Thanks for bringing up back to the dreams. #2022AnnualPLC@CorwinPress
