Every blood donation reflects the essence of our common humanity, solidarity, compassion and care for one another. It gives more than a medical resource. It gives hope, dignity and the promise of a healthier future for all. Today, we pay tribute to all voluntary, unpaid blood donors. Your generosity saves lives and strengthens communities. One drop of humanity can save a life.

During my four-day stay in Chad, @WHO supported @SanteTchad in strengthening emergency preparedness through concrete action. Together with the Minister of Public Health, Hon. Abdelmadjid Abderahim, WHO handed over and installed body temperature scanners at N'Djamena International Airport to enhance the screening of incoming travellers. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to safeguarding communities by turning preparedness into practice.

Strengthening partnerships for health was at the heart of my discussions in N'Djamena during a working dinner with development partners and donors as part of my visit to Chad. We discussed some of the country's most pressing health priorities, including the humanitarian situation in eastern Chad, malnutrition, health security, universal health coverage and digital health. What stood out throughout our discussions was a shared recognition that stronger coordination, sustained investment and collective action are essential to building resilient health systems that leave no one behind. I welcomed the continued commitment of partners to support Chad's efforts to improve the health and well-being of its people. WHO remains committed to working alongside the Government of Chad, development partners and regional institutions to advance health for all.

Encouraging news from Mongbwalu, Ituri Province, #DRC. The first recovered #Ebola patient in the area has returned home, marking an important milestone in the response. This outcome is thanks to the tireless efforts of health workers providing care under challenging conditions. It shows that people can survive Ebola when they seek care early and receive timely treatment. We urge anyone experiencing symptoms to seek care without delay.
#VaincreEbola!

Today, @DrTedros, @WHO Director-General, joined health authorities, ambassadors, high commissioners, heads of missions and partners in Uganda to brief them on the #Ebola outbreak in neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo. Dr Tedros applauded #Uganda's commitment to continued, real-time transparency in sharing information on the outbreak and actions taken. He reiterated that travel restrictions placed without clear public health rationale are not needed and can in fact discourage the transparent sharing of real-time information.
