The #HockeyStick has grown longer and sharper
I mean, I’m all for putting things into perspective, but when it comes to global warming, zooming out a couple thousand years is not exactly reassuring.

👀 The 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Mindanao caused parts of the seabed to rise by as much as 2 metres and the coastline has reportedly moved out by around 200 metres. The sudden uplift has exposed coral reefs, seagrass and marine habitats, leaving sea life stranded and causing damage to the underwater ecosystem. Officials found exposed coral and dead marine animals along affected areas. It’s incredible to think about the force needed to physically lift the seabed out of the ocean like this. 📷 DENR Soccsksargen

I'm into recycling x.com/simonahac/status/11517… Future Fund invest $50bn in new low-carbon projects FF create publicly-listed company: 1/4 shares FF 1/4 gifted to all 19mn Aus 16yo via super fund (new annual issue 300k 16yo) 1/4 ~12 ethical funds - adds independence 1/4 floated

a little thought experiment for @evcricket & @AustNuclear (& anyone else who wants to jump in): congratulations! you've just received $50bn to build new low-carbon generation in the NEM. • how/when do you spend the funds? • what's your annual generation, starting 2019?

Taxpayer/ public purse-funded support/ rescues/ bailouts should bring an equity stake delivered to a state or federal future fund - like Australia's Future Fund Spending money on fossil fuel reserves - even loans, guarantees, regulation - should bring a dividend to taxpayers
Bonza Australian Government directs Future Fund to invest in climate, renewables, housing abc.net.au/news/2024-11-20/g… Aus Future Fund previously invested in despoiling the future. Hopefully new investment direction empowers Greg Combet & FF board to pull fossil fuels investments

The rate of sea level rise has doubled in the last 20 years as climate change accelerated. Just over half of it is down to melting ice, almost all the rest due to ocean water expanding as it warms up. sciencealert.com/sea-level-r…

Tak wygląda rzeczywista głęboka elektryfikacja gospodarki. Nie na papierze, a w realu. I to podwójny sposób bo chodzi o przechodzenie na 3-4 bardziej efektywne silniki elektryczne i produkcję traktorów elektrycznych zwiększając skalę produkcji i zmniejszając koszty. Kolejnym krokiem będzie robotyzacja. @

Clean power OVERTOOK fossil generation in G7 countries last year. Renewables alone generated almost as much electricity as gas, pushing total clean power sources past fossil in 2025. ember-energy.org/latest-insi…
