Sad story here but the deceased was only 18, driving a car with over 300 horsepower at 3am. The parents need to own up to their own mistakes instead of criticizing first responders.
18 isn't enough experience nor wisdom to handle that sort of vehicle responsibly. Get your kids a Corolla or a Camry first a first car, not a speed machine.

A mother is asking for help finding the truth about what happened to her son, John Caldwell.
On February 1st at 3:07 AM, John was involved in a deadly three vehicle crash at Sheridan and Morrison. He was 18 years old.
According to official reports, he was pronounced at 3:17 AM.
His family says he remained in that vehicle until 7:21 AM.
They are asking why.
They are also asking about gaps and missing pieces that donāt line up.
Multiple neighbors reported hearing his engine revving at high RPMs for blocks before the crash. That can point to a stuck throttle or mechanical failure, not necessarily reckless driving.
Witnesses also mentioned something unusual. People possibly jumping from one vehicle to another, or a silver sedan leaving the scene. If you have a Ring camera, dashcam, or saw a silver car in the area, that matters.
There is also a reported 26 second gap in HALO camera footage at the exact moment of the crash.
The family is asking for the EDR black box data and full camera logs to understand what really happened.
No conclusions are being drawn here. But there are enough questions that this deserves a closer look.
If you live near Sheridan and Morrison, please check your cameras from that night. Even a small clip could help piece this together.
If you saw anything or have information, call or text 719 960 8930.
John was more than a headline. He was a son, part of a Westwood family, and he deserves a full and transparent investigation.
Help get this in front of the right eyes.
