We are thrilled that our project with Built Green has achieved an amazing 0.66ACH on its first pressure test! This is considerably lower than needed for the AECB Retrofit Standard which the project is targeting, saving our client approximately 5kWh/m2.a or 535 kWh per year. šŸ”‹

With circa 27million homes in need of some kind of Retrofit in the UK, there is an urgent demand for scaling up our approach. Greater Manchester Combined Authority has identified a target of 60,000 retrofits a year and as each year passes these targets necessarily increase.

The site is in lovely #Urmston and has planning permission for five homes, which will be customisable along with the gardens and landscape.

The homes will be super low energy, using natural materials. They will require very little heating and with renewable energy generation, the aim is for them to be as close to 'zero energy' homes as possible, meaning that fuel bills will be extremely low.

Some lovely pics of our panel who were absolute stars for joining us on a rare sunny day in Manchester and sharing their knowledge and experiences. Put 6th Aug in your diary if you want to help shape some of those next steps for the AECB Greater Manchester Local Group @AECBnet
#Retrofit seemed to lead the agenda, with a vast amount of experience in the room. There were a lot of topics we couldn’t cover, so plan to focus on a series of workshops over the next year. If you’re interested in helping, there will be a planning evening on 6th Aug! @AECBnet

Had such a great evening yesterday, speaking with so many like-minded people. Getting excited. Getting a bit depressed. And getting excited again for next steps for our not so little local group!
Huge thanks to everyone who attended the launch event for the @AECBnet Greater Manchester Local Group. We’re excited about next steps for this group to help drive positive change in the construction industry in GM. Special thanks to the amazing panel and Angela @TheMSArch too.
