Some very sad news to bring you, Kenny Jackett has passed away at the age of 64 As a player, Kenny played for Watford 337 times, his home town club. A one club man as a player and a legend at Vicarage Road. He also represented Wales on 31 occasions. His management career also saw a spell at Watford along with jobs at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Millwall, Swansea, Rotherham United, Portsmouth and Leyton Orient. Newly promoted EFL club Rochdale have wasted no time appointing their new manager, Ian Watson who was manager at South Shields has swapped the North East for Greater Manchester. Watson who just missed out on promotion with Shields, losing in the playoff final to Kidderminster done a brilliant job. The club reached 95 points and finished 2nd in the league. He now moves on to Dale and jumps up 2 leagues, the 40 year old has signed a 3 year deal. Southend United have announced the appointment of Kieron Dyer as the Club's new Head Coach on an initial two-year contract with an option for a third year. The former England international was recently at Chesterfield, where he established himself as a key figure of Paul Cook’s staff as First-Team Coach. Before his role at Chesterfield, Dyer had coached at his boyhood club Ipswich Town, with roles spanning the Under-18s, Under-23s, and first team. Kieron will now be in the opposite dugout to former England and West Ham United teammate Jermain Defoe who is the manager at Woking in the National League. Both England & Scotland were in World Cup warm up games this evening against New Zealand and Bolivia respectively and both countries won ahead of next week's tournament kicking off. The result of course, except for momentum and confidence isn't too important, it is more about fitness, tactics and of course avoiding injuries. Scotland put Bolivia to bed early thanks to goals from Lawrence Shankland, Scott McTominay and 2 from Che Adams. It was 4-0 at half time. Jim McNulty, the man who guided Rochdale back to the EFL and spent 11 years with Dale as a player & manager has left the club to take up the reigns at Stockport County. He has swapped league two for league one, replacing outgoing Stockport boss Dave Challinor. McNulty did play for Stockport as a player as well so knows the club well. Dale have said On behalf of the Board, the staff, the players and our incredible fans, we thank Jimmy for his fight, honesty and love for this club, as both a player and Head Coach. He has left us in a stronger place, and that is his legacy.
