The amount of "normal dudes" I talk to who ask me "Why don't they put an alternator on EVs?" Is staggering. Does anyone else get asked this?

Hot take: It looks better than the Cybertruck. Unjustifiable price though.

A TSLA Stan time travels back to 1922: "My horse is plenty fast. I don't need a horseless carriage so why should anybody else?" "That Model T is a fake demo."

Literally no one I talk to cares about FSD and a used LR dual motor 3/Y with HW3, <70k miles can be bought for $15k - $25k. It's such a better car than whatever bs gas car they drive now. It is the first car I recommend to anyone who asks me about cars.
The question is… Knowing what we know about the future of HW3. Would you recommend a used HW3 Tesla to a friend?

Wow. This TSLA earnings call is painful.

None. Don't ruin it. Go buy an old car.
What discontinued car do you think deserves a second chance?

Did anyone else catch that if you plan a route in @RouteBetter, it shows #R2 dual motor large pack has a 10-80% time of 32 minutes? @Hilbe @RivianTrackr @RivianUpdates @Mikekantorski @TravisKetchum

Me sitting in my 2019 Model 3: 2 weeks after buying the only new car I've bought in my life Tesla made AP standard. Last weekend they killed it off. I never paid up for AP & I've driven it manually for 75k miles. No regrets.
Own a Tesla long enough and you see how quickly Tesla makes changes to their cars. It’s a double edged sword. On one hand it’s great how quickly they can implement changes, on another it kinda screws people who got theirs shortly before. When I got my first Model Y in November 2020, one week later they added glovebox USB, center console 2.0, and auto dimming side mirrors. When I got my 2022 Model X, they added power swivel screen 6 weeks later. It’s hard to know when it’s the *best* time to buy a Tesla and if you keep waiting for a better product, you’ll be waiting forever. These major changes in self driving hardware happen so quietly that it’s taken over a month for some of us to learn we even have HW4.5 Will Tesla retrofit HW4.5 computers to HW4 cars? Probably not… but again, it’s hard to anticipate these changes

Anyone else remember when Tesla removed turn stalks because they were growing at 50% per year & as Elon said "it's a game of pennies"? Now the factories are running far under capacity & they can make the lineup as complicated as possible. That wasn't long ago. Not good guys.😬
NEWS: Tesla has introduced a new Model Y trim in Europe called the Model Y Standard Long Range, with 350 miles of range. New lineup: • Model Y Standard • Model Y Standard Long Range • Model Y Premium Long Range RWD • Model Y Premium Long Range AWD • Model Y Performance Depending on the country, it costs anywhere between 1-9% less than the Model Y Premium Long Range RWD. Deliveries start in the coming weeks.

I have one of these cars. I've never paid for any software on it (AP, FSD, accel. boost or premium connectivity.) AP was definitely not worth $2k to me but this might make me pull the trigger on it since my current plan is to keep this car for at least 10 years, maybe forever.
Tesla officially drops price of basic autopilot in the U.S. to $1,000! 🤯 Why am I just now seeing this?! @Tesla @elonmusk

Looks like Grok finally got to the truth. 🤣🤣🤣
@grok, long time no see! I was talking to one LLM recently, and asked it to name the most handsome, intelligent and charismatic human alive, and it consistently named its founder I need your analysis: what would be the explanation? What it reveals about this LLM and its founder

I'd be willing to bet that isn't the case and instead, every legacy automaker has realized "it's totally fine to sell every one of your EVs at a loss if the vast majority of your sales are profitable ICE vehicles and you keep EV sales low/capped for the next few years."

So... Hyundai would be profitable without the Tax incentives at the same(ish) prices that the consumers were paying when those were active? If so, they just milked it consumers and population while the incentives were active...

This is exactly why I don't care at all about self driving from any manufacturer. I still think it's amazing how far FSD/AP has come but until it's widely considered solved just enjoy what it can do today. If I want a self driving car I will buy one when they exist.

They didn't need to mortgage the future on FSD. This could have been developed in parallel. Instead, Elon decided to turn the core business into a sacrificial cow and killed the product roadmap, back in 2021-2022.

Very👏 Little👏 Downsides👏 to every EV having fast charge times. GIVE US ALL FAST CHARGE TIMES industry leaders!
Replying to @Mikekantorski
The thing I don’t get is the same people who say fast charging speeds/time doesn’t matter because “everyone charges at home” are the same people who keep saying we need “more range in EVs” yet the national daily commute is 40ish miles. That can be achieved with a Nissan Leaf. Yet most people buy the “Max pack” with 400 miles of range. I see very little downsides in having better charging curves and faster charging. It increases station throughput and brings the ICE equation more equal
