Age based verification on the Web produces perverse incentives to track users and limit human rights. The web3 community should not make this the "solution" to compliance. ZKPs are great, but don't appear to be able to solve these fundamental issues. lists.w3.org/Archives/Public…

I do not think Anthropic is the right plaintiff; the internal “safety” emphasis purely commercial provision won’t play nicely with the First Amendment maximalism needed to win. A guy publishing an equivalently powerful FOSS model in 18 months is the right plaintiff.

── Dappcon 2026 Speaker ── Open source survives on altruism. That's why it keeps almost dying. 🎙 @PryvitKyle · @brave ↳ "CROPS Must Bring Food To The Table" Kyle will give a talk on why Censorship Resistance, Open Source, Privacy, and Security can't propagate on good intentions alone — and how Loss Leader Software has quietly been the real funding engine behind open source, pointing toward a business model that can make CROPS a sustainable cultural phenomenon.

Honestly @Rabby_io, this is disgusting Before I even set up my wallet, you are sending my data to - your matomo instance - and just in case track me on Google Analytics - and to be really sure dump my data into Sentry I hereby kindly inform you that this is a breach of your Privacy Policy (yes, the one that you last looked at 5 years ago) and a gross violation of GDPR Articles 13 and 46. Please stop tracking me at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

They’ll use this to justify ID checks likely by saying “prove you’re a certified security auditor and we’ll disable this second model guard for you”

Fable 5’s safeguards detect requests related to cybersecurity, biology and chemistry, and distillation. Users are informed whenever a fallback occurs—on average in less than 5% of sessions. We’ll keep refining the safeguards to reduce false positives.

This is what a compliance accountability sink looks like in crypto. It’s a new form of debanking where because chainalysis deems you a risk, you’re effectively shadowbanned from moving your money onchain in any place that relies on chainalysis.

gm @zachxbt, I know you're busy, but I'd greatly appreciate any help/advice you can offer I had used @HTX_Global long before the sanctions and unknowingly used it a few times in the days after the sanctions. I first found out about the sanctions after I got banned from the @HyperliquidX frontend and was told in a discord ticket on 3 june that it was due to using HTX I've been trying to get in touch with @elliptic and @trmlabs and I'm willing to comply to prove my innocence as a regular user. I've already spoken to @0xTrojanhorse from @chainalysis who explained that they simply tag any wallet that ever used HTX, even before the sanctions, and that it's up to their clients to decide which addresses to ban I have run my wallets through @GoPlusSecurity's public API and @blockaid_ and they have all come back benign the affected wallets hold 99.5% of my networth and all of my points on various protocols, so the effect has been devastating. Just yesterday, all my wallets in my @opensea profile, even ones that hadn't touched HTX, were banned, meaning I no longer have a means to sell my NFTs x.com/0xasrequired/status/20…

So not only is the Uk trying to balkanize the Web with the Online Safety Act, but now they're doing it with heavy handed enforcement of financial sanctions. Open networks are in for a rough next few years as the geopolitics of internet networks gets sorted out

Recent UK crypto sanctions seem to be a bit of an overreach. Wonder if it will ever get to the point where it’s ignored because HTX address tainting onchain has been catastrophic. In the past sanctions were done and those crypto businesses typically had a high % of illicit activity (Huione, Blender, Hydra, etc). While Justin Sun may be a controversial name HTX has a decent number of Asia retail users. Basically now I’ve had to ignore the sanctions category when tracing cases by exposure since “risk” itself has become meaningless. Also compliance tools are a bit flawed and do not differentiate pre & post sanctions activity well. Meanwhile I have a legit $1.25B laundering case by an illicit actor the UK completely failed to detect. Given UK incompetence historically in crypto cases it’s not surprising to see them sanction HTX and miss the actual violations…..

No login-tied account. Brave uses a blind signature protocol based on Privacy Pass to decouple payment identity from service usage, so the browser can verify a valid purchase proof for a premium product without learning anything about you or your uses. github.com/brave/brave-core/…

.@getyoti just "admitted" they consider one of the world's most respected privacy-focused mobile OS a red flag. listen you fucktards: flagging GrapheneOS users as "suspicious" isn't security expertise; it's some weird security theater clownshow. the world turns into an Orwellian shithole and we must push back as hard as possible. i fucking use GrapheneOS and i'm fucking proud of it - am i now a fucking criminal you fucktards? discuss.grapheneos.org/d/361…

One of the things I hate the most about polarized politics is how people start drooling at the thought of their enemies committing a visible atrocity. "but we know a priori that they do those things, we only want the evidence" 😞

No Monero folks should be looking to dunk on Zcash because of Zooko's post. He did the right thing and was honest about exploitation being undetectable. We (Monero) have had our own inflation bugs that have thankfully also been resolved, it's a natural downside to building out privacy as the default in these systems. The important things are: 1. Fixing them quickly 2. Working with stakeholders quickly 3. Being honest and transparent about them so the ecosystem as a whole can learn and improve
