A @PurdueECE faculty member for 46 years, Lundstrom is a National Academy of Engineering member, founder of @nanoHUBnews and one of the world's leading figures in semiconductor device physics.
He previously served as acting dean in 2020 and interim dean from 2022–2023, bringing deep institutional knowledge and a clear vision to the role.

ANNOUNCED TODAY: Purdue Engineering Dean Arvind Raman has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as undersecretary of standards and technology for @CommerceGov , also serving as director of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (@NIST), effective June 1.
On Friday, colleagues, students and friends gathered in the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering to celebrate Dean Raman and wish him well as he heads to Washington, D.C.
Raman leaves behind a transformed College of Engineering — now the nation's largest producer of engineering degrees, ranked in the Top 4 nationally and No. 1 across all ranked online MS engineering specialties.
