After much nonsense in the traditional job market, I've decided to go all-in on consulting in the DTC space. I'm the proud owner of Down To Consult LLC, and will be doing business as DTC Consulting ✨ Website and email/SMS service offerings to come, taking conversations now!

These AI ads are downright ugly and off-brand. Let's not romanticize shitty, low-grade outputs as if they are the next big thing. Can they be useful for quickly mocking up ideas? Sure. But they all look remarkably similar and cheapen the brand. Hard pass, ya'll.

Hey @youthtotheppl This isn't "customer service". Your site was broken on BFCM and wouldn't allow loyalty points to be applied. I spent $100 anyway and asked for a credit. Your response is to do... nothing? I'll be returning my $100 order. You can keep the gratitude.

You could also leverage keyword replies to capture early access/high-intent shoppers by asking them to reply with a keyword to get the sale details This will lower your sending costs, reduce sending delays, and prioritize those most likely to convert!
📱SMS tips for #BFCM🛒 Networks get notoriously bogged down on BFCM due to the massive increase in throughput, which can cause significant message delays during critical sales periods. Get ahead of the carrier chaos with this approach: Send your Black Friday deal the day (or two) before and tell folks to click the link to shop at the time your sale launches (make sure to include the time). Capture those clickers in a Black Friday-High Intent segment and prioritize them for any re-sends to non-purchasers. **Bonus: avoid using MMS/media in your messages on these days as those messages are likely to be doubly delayed. You'll stand out more by actually making it to your subscribers' inbox vs getting lost in an onslaught of delayed deliveries.

Great session from @wearesinch during Email Camp all about RCS/RBM I cannot wait for this channel to take off. SMS is already my favorite, but this will take things to a whole new level. Are you ready? youtu.be/zu7LcaYaoXQ?si=gyF_…

PSA: if you scrape or buy my email address and start sending me spam, I will promptly report your brand/email program to the abuse desk of your ESP. Do not send emails to people who never signed up to receive them. It is that simple.

Reminder to brands everywhere, this is a fineable offense! The limit is ONE abandoned cart message to be sent within 48 hours of the abandonment event. That's it. No you can't hack the rules. Yes individual customers can sue/report to carriers for abuse.

I never need to hear "very demure, very mindful" ever again. I cannot wait for this trend to see itself out.

O’ Hare @fly2ohare really putting the ORD in ORDEAL after putting people on planes while simultaneously evacuating ATC in the middle of a tornado then letting us sit on the tarmac for 1.5 hours. @united UA 2144 lack of communication was appalling

Sitting on the plane nearly 4 hours after our initial boarding time and there is an issue pushing back from the (same) gate. @united @fly2ohare this is absurd.

Well folks, it's finally happening. RCS is coming to iOS18 This isn't exactly new news, but it is an exciting development as it will almost fully replace SMS and make text more engaging and dynamic, regardless of device type. theverge.com/2024/6/10/24171…

@ringmybeller @somaatoth curious on your takes for what this means for the SMS/MMS space and if brands will be eager to adopt more interactive messaging styles as a result?
