I was scrolling through my phone looking for old photos from my early days with
@SuperteamNG when I came across something really special.
A few years ago, I moved from Uyo back to Borno State to help build the SuperteamNG community. I had been away from Maiduguri for years, and when I told my mum why I was coming back, she didn't understand Web3 or what the community was about. What she did understand was that her daughter was gathering people for an event and working hard on something she believed in.
On the day of the event, after I returned from making my hair, I found that my mum had prepared an incredible amount of peppered chicken and packed it in her most expensive flask a purchase she had brought back from India.
She told me that the food at the event might not be grand, and she didn't want it to seem like I had come all the way back home to host an event without something special to offer. So the peppered chicken was her way of supporting me, even though she didn't fully understand what I was building. She simply wanted me to succeed.
The way our parents support us is truly priceless.
Happy Anniversary, SuperteamNG. My goal was simply to introduce the opportunities I had found to people in my state, and today I am incredibly proud of what we have built over the past three years.
And as I look back on this journey, I'm especially grateful that my mum was there to see it all begin. She may no longer be here, but her love, support, and belief in me will always be part of this story.
