This account is no longer active. The RAS remains committed to education and outreach and will share relevant content from the main @RoyalAstroSoc account.
Education and outreach is at the heart of what we do at the Royal Astronomical Society and so we've decided to merge this account with our main @RoyalAstroSoc account. We will bring you news of our education resources and activities there and hope you will all keep in touch.
We thank the team for all their work on those accounts over the years and look forward to using the main account to promote all their excellent work. Rest assured we are still 100% committed to both outreach and diversity.
We have made the decision to stop posting to the separate @ras_outreach and @ras_diversity accounts and include that content in our main account instead. Education, outreach, diversity and inclusion are core to what we do, and we can reach a larger audience with the content here.
Thanks to @SaturnSheila and @LucindaLand for their great work on this account over the years. They will continue this work and we'll bring you all the latest edu and outreach news via @royalastrosoc. Don't forget all of our useful resources on our website ras.ac.uk/education-and-care…

Look up tonight to watch a quick moving light in the night until it dims. It’s not a plane but our international space station (ISS). An inspiring and moving 😍 sight to see on these clear nights and uncertain times! 🛰👩🏻🚀🧑🏽🚀🌏 #StayHome#StaySafe#LookUp
If you enjoyed watching the @Space_Station pass yesterday, see it again tonight at 18:53 or 20:30. For those asking about a string of 'eerie' lights moving across the sky, they're not 👽 but satellites (@SpaceX or @OneWeb most likely)...the aliens are way stealthier than that 😂
