Thank you to Rachel from NAFD and to Meike, Lauren, Daniel and Alison from Co-op Funeralcare for your time. It was very clear from my visit to the Co-op's Leeds site just how much care and attention your staff give to the deceased and their families.

Valuable opportunity to discuss the detail of the @Law_Commission's proposals for burial and cremation law.
Today we met with the Law Commission to discuss their consultation on burials and cremation. Thank you to everyone who came along for what proved to be a useful and engaging discussion.

Last Wednesday, the Funerals and Bereavement APPG met in the Palace of Westminster for an in-person session chaired by Sir Robert Goodwill. It was fantastic to welcome over 40 members of the funerals, burials & cremation industries attending from across the country. (1/2)

3/4: This #GriefAwarenessWeek, can you add your name to @NAFDPresident John’s petition to include awareness of death, dying and bereavement to the @educationgovuk National Curriculum? John lost his own mum at the age of 12 and knows just how isolating this experience can be.

2/4: We teach children about when life begins, why don’t we talk about how we feel and what happens when it ends? The literary, historical, sociological and scientific topics in all four key stages are rich in natural, age-appropriate conversation starters.

1/4: Every day, more than 100 young people in the UK suffer the loss of a parent, sibling or other close family member. A brutal introduction to a subject many of us still don’t like, or don’t know, how to talk about, which can make their experience of #grief even more isolating.
