Governor Abbott closed out his speech at the Texas GOP convention with a live elephant. It then peed on the floor as it left the room. The perfect metaphor for the Texas Republican Party.

For the first time, an American pro athlete is speaking out against fossil fuel sponsorships in sports. I have an exclusive interview with Angels pitcher Brent Suter, who's tired of greenwashing and would much prefer to promote clean energy. Check it out: climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/…

Here’s the well in November 2024. It’s been leaking toxic brine into the ground for over 18 months. Now it’s also flowing oil. Chevron doesn’t care. The Texas Railroad Commission doesn’t care either.
Hey Chevron - any plans to fix these old rotten wells leaking produced water, gas, and now oil in Crane County? Or just wait and see what Conoco, Blackbeard, Goodnight, and Formentera do? It’s not getting better with time.

Don’t let him fool you. Greg Abbott built this. He expanded the incentives that brought data centers flooding into Texas and let them grow for years with no guardrails and no say for the communities living next to them — and never once worried about it. Now it’s an election year, and suddenly he “cares.” Read the letter: he’ll regulate the water, the noise, the wires — everything except whether your town gets to say no. The word never appears. Here’s the real tell: he only started paying attention when he thought he might lose us. That’s how much the rural vote is worth. Don’t let him manipulate us into thanking him for a problem he created. Local control was never on the table. Again. #txlege #ruraltx

BREAKING: Ohio secretly gave 100% sales tax breaks, lasting up to 40 years, to tech giants for data centers, per Cleveland.com. The exemptions—signed by Gov. Kasich—give Google, Meta and Amazon at least $600 million each. Legislators say the contracts can't be undone.

Reporter: Stephen A. Smith said he would blame you if the Knicks lost Trump: He is a nice guy but you need a certain aptitude to run for president. You need a high IQ. I don't think Stephen has it.

What a dumbass.
People are tired of watching the highly political @NBA. Basketball ratings are WAY down, and they won’t be coming back. I hope football and baseball are watching and learning because the same thing will be happening to them. Stand tall for our Country and our Flag!!!

Putting aside the crowd reaction, a lifelong civilian “saluting” the flag in an attempt to appeal to military folks is about as low-IQ as one can get.
Trump, shown on camera during the national anthem, is booed loudly at MSG

We’re actively participating in the dumbest experiment ever concocted - let the most corrupt mfer alive make all your country’s policy decisions. How could that go badly?
From the Texas Tribune: After Mexican officials confirmed case of screwworm in Nov. 2024, USDA, under Joe Biden, closed southern ports of entry to live cattle imports to prevent spread of screwworm into U.S. Move also strained supply of cattle in Texas.... USDA reversed course in Feb 2025, after Trump took office, announcing opening of ports"

This is really stupid, and it’s not getting enough attention. The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water, equipment taxpayers already bought, built, and sank into the deep ocean. And they are doing it right when the oceans are behaving in ways that alarm the scientists who study them. Record-breaking temperatures. A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse. The response? Yank out the instruments and walk away. That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency. For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives. The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident. That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first. cnn.com/2026/06/03/climate/o…

DOGE didn't make a dent in the deficit, but it did bring back screwworm and enable a historically large new Ebola outbreak, so it's not like they didn't achieve *anything*
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service at USDA helps prevent threats like screwworm from ever reaching US livestock. In 2025, it lost 1,300 employees due to cuts and firings. That’s the thing about prevention: you don’t notice it when it works, only when it is gone.
