And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
(William Blake)
Here the maker got mixed up and made the Universe fit in the palm of their hand...
Bit of rotten luck! A gust of wind meant that our cansat is now a permanent exhibit in the York Air Museum wood ! 😂 Maybe bolt an engraved plaque on the tree trunk?
CANSAT launched successfully and we have succeeded in recovering data! Telemetry succeess. Parachute got tangled with that of another team post launch and it held both during descent. Some damage but is backup is ready and electronics have been mended by Imogen! 2nd launch soon.
Amazing time yesterday with the Y8 cohort attending #RMSAstronight ! Science experiments, Planetarium show, Observatory for 🌙 watching, marshmallows by the campfire, film night and a sleepover at the Science Dept. 80 very happy students!
A bit of the Sun missing ! The clouds parted for a few seconds, enough for our Solarscope to catch a glimpse of today's eclipse! Its an annular one seen as a partial from the UK.
Winning design in the Y11 structural engineering challenge for earthquake-proof buildings! we’d show a video but one can hardly see it vibrate! Well done Jaime, Mia, Charlotte, Ria and Issy!
Astronomy from the Lowers at @RMSforGirls. (Technically, the not-so-lowers as one was standing at the crest of the hill to get a better view). #cometNEOWISE
Try and observe it this month as its not coming back for another 7000 years. I don't think anyone will remember us by then. And if they do, they'll probably be trying to decipher what the obscure characters R-M-S stood for. Root Mean Square @RMSmaths ? Anyway. Don't miss it!
Mrs Timoney kick starts the Cumberland total with 4km. Who’s going to be the first to register for Scarbrough & Moira?? Race is on! #RMSPEChallenges 🌎
