minimum wage workers raising Families did not receive the same outreach effort or have an equal say in how this incremental policy was decided. Low wage Burien workers will make less than nearly all cities around us. Even our youth workers at fast food joints will not earn more.
Burien on Monday approved a minimum wage hike, but local organizers say exemptions in the new ordinance mean many low-wage workers will not see a pay bump. st.news/3PxuKba

Friends, Check out this Letter to the Editor on the B-Town Blog about the City of @Burien where their Council is preparing to pass the WEAKEST minimum wage legislation in the region, excluding thousands of workers from the wage increase. More below: buff.ly/3SZUaPN

We stand against any "tipped minimum wage" -- a flawed idea dating back to the late 1800s following emancipation when white restaurant owners wanted to maintain low wages for Black & Brown service industry workers. Read more @ OnLabor publication below: buff.ly/3IeP25g

It's time to end, once and for all, this vicious cycle that forces customers to subsidize substandard wages for workers with tips. Read the Council ordinance using the link below. Be sure to share & spread the word! buff.ly/4bXuH1S #RaisetheWage #Burien #solidarity

β€œNo on 23-02” is in debt $90,067.27. Unpaid pledges from the Renton Chamber of Commerce total $25,000, raising concerns. The Renton Chamber is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit & receives taxpayer funds from the City of Renton. Chamber members should be made aware of these findings.

This raises deep concerns re: the potential misuse of taxpayer funds. We'll continue to monitor the situation and plan to ask questions during upcoming City Council Meetings to get answers from the City. For now, stay tuned for more updates! #YESon2302 #Renton #WAelex

One of my campaign goals was to have all committee meetings recorded & posted for transparency. I was unofficially told we can’t do that due to risk of β€œserial meetings” w/ a quorum of council members seeing the same information before it’s presented at COW or Council 🧡 1/3

I remember being so nervous when I saw the NO PAC raise nearly six figures in a matter of days. The fact that #23-02 still won by 15 points shows the strength of a true community-led coalition. @RTWRenton
