1/5. Make collider bias make sense. (I'll try) Conditioning on a collider (variable caused by outcome and predictor) induces a noncausal association between the predictor and outcome. But why?

1)The heterogeneity IS the story. Social science meta-analyses tend to be large with broad inclusion criteria. This means by design they are focused on heterogeneity. There is not a single, constant effect of an intervention. Instead, there is a distribution of effects.
