The voters elected a sheriff, not a federal monitor. @MCSOAZ
HUGE support for @MCSOAZ independence under @JerrySheridan24 "… 73% of voters agree that Maricopa County taxpayers should not have to continue paying for federal oversight based on actions from more than a decade ago. Nearly half (48%) strongly agree." noblepredictiveinsights.com/…

We are working hard to get the word out: Teen violence is rising in the Valley. Yesterday, County Attorney @Rachel1Mitchell, @Surprise_PD Chief Evan Becher, and @QCPolice Chief Randy Brice came together to address this crisis and called on our community to take action. See their message to parents here: ow.ly/QsPU50Z8jt8

Teen violence is on the rise. Last year we took legislative action to help combat the rise. Since the law took effect last September, @marcoattorney has charged 63 people. It takes all of us to combat the rise in teen violence. I’m grateful for the Arizona Legislature for working with my office to get this critical legislation passed. I’m particularly grateful for State Reps @MatthewGress and @JWilloughbyAZ for leading this legislation.

Important and much-needed law! Thank you @JohnTrobough!
Arizona families deserve to know that dangerous offenders cannot fall through the cracks because of broken systems or incomplete records. That is why I am proud to be THE law enforcement-endorsed candidate in this race. The men and women who keep our communities safe know I will stand with them, fight for secure borders, and always put public safety first. I am calling for the Mitchell Law — a fingerprint amendment to help law enforcement identify repeat offenders, strengthen accountability, and protect communities across Arizona and the nation. Thank you to Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell and the Arizona Police Association for your leadership, support, and commitment to keeping Arizona safe. I will always back the blue. @Rachel1Mitchell @AZPoliceAssc

.@marcoattorney is charging this defendant with the following: -one count of manslaughter -three counts of endangerment -one count of possession or use of dangerous drugs -one count of possession or use of drug paraphernalia My office will continue fighting for safer streets and neighborhoods. Cases like this demand accountability, collaboration between law enforcement partners, and an unwavering commitment to public safety. @DHSgov @Arizona_DPS As a reminder: a criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
PHOENIX, ARIZONA: This criminal illegal alien has been INDICTED after toxicology reports showed she was driving IMPAIRED during the crash that KILLED her three-year-old daughter and injured three others. Working alongside local law enforcement, @ICEgov is ensuring this criminal can NEVER again jeopardize lives on American highways. foxnews.com/politics/illegal…

County Attorney @Rachel1Mitchell offers clarity on the case involving Brenda Rivera Estrada and what it actually means when a case is furthered back to law enforcement for additional investigation. Last week, misinformation was shared on social that we "declined" charges. This was not true.

Not saying that, and I don't want to get too much into the details of an ongoing investigation. But my experience is that training is the place to start.
So there's no room for improvement in training to get better compliance or room to tighten the law?

I would recommend that all schools start by reviewing ARS 15-245 and then go to apaac.az.gov/mandatory-repor….

.@Rachel1Mitchell can your staff who advises @ShelliBoggs review the policies and how they were followed (or not adequately) and advise Shelli's office on how the policies can be strengthened or deficiencies in the law that could be recommended? It seems like whether crimes were committed is a different question from the administration of the laws/policies, and children/schools could certainly benefit from the latter.

Lots of wrong info out there: My office absolutely has jurisdiction to prosecute violations of the mandatory reporting law. But we are a PROSECUTION office, not a police agency. It's up to police to investigate & then, if they feel it's warranted, submit a case to MCAO to review for charges. @PamKirby
Rachel Mitchell has said she has no jurisdiction over mandatory reporting from what I’ve seen. So, that buck stops with you and the HR department at PUSD. Ya know, the one who you just installed as the head of the district. Nothing to see here folks.

Brenda Rivera Estrada* has been indicted for a rollover crash on that killed her 9-year-old daughter. The case was initially furthered to gather additional evidence needed to file charges. Misinformation was circulated online that MCAO “declined” charges. This was never correct. A warrant was issued, and Rivera Estrada was transported from ICE custody to the Maricopa County Jail, where she is being held on a $250,000 cash bond. Read more about this case here: ow.ly/Eo1W50Z3Svv *A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
