'If you build it, they will come.' - Field of Dreams. What I hoped would happen is starting to happen - gynaecologists & anaesthetists are contacting me to find out about our pathway for hysteroscopy under sedation. The opening is over, and the end game is in sight! @NHSGIRFT

one financial pot If you will use significant parts of that for a B7 who canโ€™t work to that level- while denying other staff their uplifts from B2 to B3 or B6 to B7? You harm retention, drop morale All in the quest of shoehorning a group into workforce Hope that helps

Absolutely brilliant writing by @mancunianmedic (again) and draws me to social work thinking. Social workers and our leaders must first prioritise robust health and social palliative care investment from government before engaging with assisted dying on any conceivable level. Dignified dying is a universal right and requires equitable, well funded safe care to ensure true choice. Advocating for assisted dying without addressing current palliative services is a non starter what with workforce shortages and public mistrust, risks coercion and inequity people face when they die. Social workers should demand investment, training and public education to guarantee high quality end of life care for all. Only with these reforms can discussions about assisted dying be grounded in social justice and autonomy, supported by clear guidelines for any future social work role rather than panels and checklists. Will we ever learn? #AssistedDyingBill #AssistedDying

Public misunderstanding, myths, and misinformation can hamper good end-of-life care. We need a better public conversation to help support better deaths and overcome the barriers to achieving them, writes @mancunianmedic bmj.com/content/389/bmj.r100โ€ฆ

Ever occurred to you that investing in the nursing profession might be of great benefit to any plans? No? Not even bothering to include us? Thought so.

Breaking: Ministers have recommended a 2.8% pay rise next year for millions of teachers, nurses, civil servants and other public sector workers next year It says that this is 'competitive' and reflects the 'challenging financial backdrop' Departments have been told that they must fund pay rises from within their existing budgets It will inevitably lead to clashes between the unions and the government - and potentially between ministers and the Treasury
