A debate titled "How to Defeat Aging" will be held on May 27, 2024, in San Francisco, featuring two distinguished scientists, @fedichev and @aubreydegrey , both proponents of radical life extension with biotechnology, with opposing views. Fedichev believes aging in humans is irreversible but can be slowed or stopped, while de Grey argues for the potential of rejuvenation to reverse aging. The debate will discuss the feasibility of these approaches in light of recent scientific advancements and growing clinical evidence, aiming to determine which method can deliver clinical therapeutics that can significantly extend human life within the next 10 years. The event, hosted by the Foresight Institute, Say Forever, and Open Longevity, will be accessible both offline and online. The winner, chosen by a jury, will receive a $10,000 prize to further their research. Luma sign-up link lu.ma/k3h8rdsb Youtube live broadcast youtube.com/watch?v=g7UwkfoL… Save event to your calendar

Do you agree that most don’t die people are introverts? The fact that society doesn’t support the idea of life extension makes its supporters often isolate themselves from communication. How can we correct it? Find an interesting partner with the help of our service, join us!

What's the first step in the battle against aging? My answer — surround yourself with like-minded people. If someone is for life extension, it automatically means they're for extending your life too. Ideally, you want to surround yourself only with such people. It allows you to focus on solving the problem and not waste attention on what's unimportant. In my circle, there are no non-transhumanists. But where do you find these fellow immortalists? You could hunt for immortalists on social media and send them an awkward "Hi, let's get acquainted?", but that's hardly efficient. Many are caught up in their daily routines, and let's face it, among transhumanists, there's a fair share of introverts for whom such an unexpected intrusion into personal space can be stressful. But we have crafted a solution, one that I think @bryan_johnson would nod at approvingly — trust the algorithm. Enter Random Coffee Here's how it brews connections: 1. Sign Up: Join the Random Coffee network. Just fill out a brief questionnaire on the website. 2. Match: Every Friday, you'll receive an email asking if you're up for meeting a new person. Say yes, and an algorithm pairs you with a fellow crusader in the war against aging. 3. Connect: On Monday, you both get an introduction, and the connection is made. 4. Meet: Set up a date and time to enjoy getting to know each other. It's networking without the stress of forced introductions or the uncertainty of reaching out to strangers. With Random Coffee, you're paired with people already interested in meeting, taking away the awkwardness of that first step. It's about connecting effortlessly, expanding your network one cup at a time. Join Random Coffee, and let your thirst for knowledge be quenched, and your passion for life extended. Let each cup of coffee become a building block in constructing a more connected, stronger community striving for radical life extension. Warning: Participation may lead to a growing network of life-extending allies, an addiction to great conversation, and an insatiable desire to conquer the boundaries of human existence. 🚀☕ Don't forget to retweet, and whenever possible, talk about this service to relevant people. It's free but requires your support in spreading the word.

Our perception of how long a person is revivable and what incidents are considered deadly has been constantly shifting with the advancements of medicine. A person with heart attack was immediately considered dead not that long ago, and look where we are now. Go cryonics!

John Carlisle, an editor at the journal Anaesthesia, scoured all the manuscripts he handled that reported a randomized controlled trial (RCT) and scrutinized more than 500 studies. Нe judged that 44% of these trials contained at least some flawed data.

At First Approval we see raw data publishing as a way to solve reproducibility crisis and we are not the only ones. Nature journal has just published an article highlighting the reproducibility problem in clinical trials and proposing introduction of a "guilty prism" for authors.

@elonmusk needs to stop justifying death. No need to look for reasons to say that death is useful. Death is unacceptable under any circumstances

Any time somebody discussing AGI/ASI scenarios says they'd "rather worry about" whatevs, you know they're not past the baby apprentice stage. Reality doesn't give a fifth of a flying fuck what you'd rather worry about. They aren't visualizing a world outside of their own heads.
