This is one of the most milquetoast statements I've ever read by a public official. Supervisor Stewart represents 95% of Tempe, and can't bring himself to call out @azjustinheap's unprecedented and possibly criminal election tampering? What are these people afraid of exactly? Could it be the fact they both succesfully primaried sitting and well-respected public servants, in their own party, by spreading election lies, and now their balls are in a vice? Does @MarkStewart_AZ know that he could have said nothing at all and saved himself the embarrassment of having to publicly surrender his dignity?

The security footage really speaks for itself, but here are the facts: - Justin Heap's Chief Information Officer (CIO) took a pre-tabulation scanner … while election results were actually being tabulated … and drove off with it in what looks like a personal vehicle. - Budget records prove this scanner was purchased and upkept with Election Department funds, under the Board’s authority. - Along with the scanner, the CIO appeared to take from a secure area a handful of affidavit envelopes with provisional ballots. - Recorder Heap refused to participate in the internal investigation. Maricopa County officials and voters deserve answers from Justin Heap.
