The Pentagon: We don’t know where $2.3 trillion went. The White House: We don’t know where $6.2 billion went. The U.S. Navy: We don’t know where an F-35 fighter jet went. The IRS: We know where that $601 went, report it if you don’t want to end in jail.

Hello friends! Friendly reminder real quick. Being fast and accurate at computation is not synonymous with being good at math. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Whenever I hear people say that we should cure diseases “naturally” I think of the bear I saw with a ten foot long tape worm hanging out of its butt. Nature is great, but not having tapeworms is also great. And having affordable tuberculosis testing would be even better!

. @DanaherCorp makes 8 billion dollars in annual profits. Much of that profit comes from price-gouging the world's poorest countries for life-saving tuberculosis tests. Danaher has done this in the dark for 13 long years. Today, we shine the light. #PeopleOverProfits

She believed she could but it was uncompensated, non promotable work she had no interest in so she set a reasonable boundary, protected her time, and said no.

Idk if the lack of community care in our culture is more evident than when moms casually say they daydream about being hospitalized for something only moderately serious so that they are forced to not have any responsibilities for like 3 days.

One of the things about “just Google it” or “do your own research” (no shade or shaming anyone, I’ve done it often) is that the lack of media literacy means people don’t have fully developed research skills nor the practiced discernment to separate out quality information.

The lockdown narrative is hilarious. There truly was no lockdown, just adjustments. In May 2020, my Dad suffered a massive stroke and was on life support. I had to fly home to Chicago. There was no permission needed to fly, I bought a ticket and flew from Maine to Chicago.

If paying a cashier a living wage will make prices go up. Why doesn't replacing cashiers with Self Checkouts make prices go down?

just a reminder that the religious right didn’t originally begin as a movement to oppose abortion but to oppose racial integration in the 1960s. white supremacy is a feature of white evangelicalism, not a flaw

Aspergers used to be what we called people with ‘high functioning’ autism. We now just use the term autism and we are slowly moving away functioning labels because our levels of functioning increases and decreases at different points a cross the life span. #ActuallyAutistic

“Is covid back?” is such a ridiculous framing. It never went away, and we have seen an increase at exactly this time of year for the past 3 years. Might as well say: “Is school back? Despite a quiet summer, classrooms across the country are increasingly full of children”
