Alright friends, Wake County is opening TWO shelters this afternoon at 3pm. If you don't have heat in your home or don't have the resources you need for your family if the power goes out during this storm, please go BEFORE the roads get bad this evening.

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia until 8 PM EDT

Most of central NC has been upgraded to an Enhanced Risk (level 3 of 5) for severe weather today, the Slight Risk remains elsewhere. The primary hazard will be damaging wind gusts, however large hail and an isolated tornado or two are also possible. #ncwx
The primary timing for severe weather will be between 2 and 8pm, although severe weather will be possible along and east of the I-95 corridor as late as 10pm. Keep weather aware by checking the latest forecast and have multiple ways to receive watches/warnings.
