🚨 Why Did the Market Suddenly Fall 200-300 Points Today?
Many people are confused because there was no major negative news, yet the market fell sharply within minutes.
The main reason was MSCI Rebalancing.
In simple words, MSCI updates its stock indices from time to time. Many big foreign funds follow these indices, so whenever MSCI changes stock weightages, these funds are forced to buy or sell stocks accordingly.
Today, these large funds sold stocks worth thousands of crores in a very short time, creating heavy selling pressure in the market.
Since Nifty is heavily dependent on large-cap stocks, this sudden institutional selling pushed the index down by 200-300 points, especially during the last few minutes of trading.
✅ So today's sharp fall was mainly due to MSCI-related fund adjustments, not because of any major negative news or change in market fundamentals.
