Some folks have asked me before “How do I know X manga publisher has seen my license recc to them?” The answer: You kinda don’t and that’s normal. In licensing (in general not just manga), it’s not a good idea to openly state that you are actively pursuing/considering a license. Beyond the business confidentiality aspect and it being viewed as inappropriate, it creates false expectation with people since there’s never a 100% guarantee that you can get said license. With that being said, many publishers are actively looking at suggestions even if they can’t acknowledge it. For instance, there’s so many manga I’ve check out thanks to @mangamavericks’ suggestion form (thank you shojosei folks). I just feel weird talking about them. 🤐

MrBeast reveals his trick for giving away islands on the cheap “There’s two options, you can buy a really cheap shit island and terraform it and make it nice, or you can buy a really nice one problem is the really nice ones are all at least like 10, 11, 12 million” “you can find a shitty island for like 800 grand. huge, fucking massive, but it’s literally just a rock with trees on it.” “when we give away islands we buy the shitty ones and then we import a bunch of sand, import a couple hundred trees, and build a little house, build sheds on it, and then it’s like 800k.” “you put like 2 million in and then you got a really nice looking island, which is still infinitely cheaper than if you just bought one of the 10 million dollar ones”

yeah, all of the ghost in the shells are standalone it's not that complex
To people who arent familiar with ghost in the shell: Yes, you can watch the 2026 GITS anime as your first GITS. You can pretty much begin from anywhere since they are all standalone. Each of the GITS anime are created by diff creatives with their interpretations of the work.

Most experiments fail, and negative results rarely get published. This means LLMs are unaware of the outcomes of most experiments.

Thinking about that cancelled Lupin III series called Once Upon A Time that would’ve been set in 1920’s/30’s New York, had Lupin III vs Al Capone and Zenigata leading the FBI what a world that would’ve been if it got made…

The idea that a faux-China setting that's not meant to be historically accurate could even cause MILD upset among some people is the reason why we get the same boring faux-Europe setting in every fantasy ever because of the perceived "barrier" to entry
Natsu Hyuuga about the misconception that Apothecary Diaries takes place in Ancient China: “It’s not technically set in China, but the setting is very much inspired by China. There are also some Japanese sensibilities in there” Full interview: scrmbl.com/post/hyuganatsu-i…
