Every day in this country, 15 people, on average, commit suicide.
FIFTEEN.
Every single one of them is a tragedy.
EVERY one. Even 61-year-olds serving sentences for violent disorder during the Farage Riots.
They’re ALL tragic. Including the 23 asylum seekers who have committed suicide in Home Office accommodation in the last four years while waiting for the government to process their asylum applications.
But if you’re only bothering to speak out about ONE of these suicides, and not the hundreds and thousands of suicides caused by the likes of austerity, or poverty, or the predatory gambling industry, or any of the plethora of social problems facing this nation’s vulnerable people, then you’re not actually bothered about suicide amongst vulnerable people. You’re merely exploiting the death of ONE vulnerable person because it helps to further your personal political agenda. Textbook sociopathy.
