GHMC has started Phase-III of its Link Road Project with 18 new road stretches planned across Shamshabad, Rajendranagar and Khairatabad. Major links include Gollapally Junction–ORR Service Road (7 km), ORR Service Road–Chevella Road via Kismathpur (5.5 km) and Shamshabad Railway Crossing–Dharmagiri Road (5 km). Revenue records show Survey No. 452/1 and 454/1 together hold over 293 acres of government land. After resolving boundary overlaps, nearly 200 acres stayed under HMDA control — now fenced. The Society to Save Rocks first took the matter to the High Court, which ordered protection in 2019. Commissioner A.V. Ranganath said the group has sought protection of the Khajaguda rocks for 36 years. The fencing was completed on World Environment Day. The move guards the rocks against future encroachment, blasting and damage.
