Itโs ironic really. Britons have probably been the most prolific illegal #migrants in the history of the planet. Full report on YouTube: youtu.be/tMnVkf2dccQ#Brexit#refugees#asylum#racism

MPs WHO VOTED AGAINST #BREXIT
After the #EUreferendum on 23 June 2016 - 8 years ago - the
@Conservatives were in a hasty rush to go ahead with Brexit. But 114 MPs took a stand and voted no.
ALT During the referendum, a Sunday Express front page claimed that unless Britain voted for Brexit, 12 million Turks would move to the UK when Turkey joined the EU.
A month later, the paper admitted that the claim was entirely untrue.
ALT BBC News on 10 June inaccurately described how the EU functions.
Senior BBC journalist, Christian Fraser โ who usually presents the BBCโs Context news programme โ got the context of the European Commission completely wrong.
Reporting from Brussels for the European Parliament elections, Mr Fraser said, โThere are two things to say about this [European] Parliament, it doesnโt work like a conventional Parliament.
โLegislation is reserved for the European Commission, the executive arm of the EU.
โThey donโt like interference from the Parliament. They donโt like interference from the European leaders...โ
The impression given was that itโs the Commission that has all the power in the EU, above that of the elected European Parliament and the elected Presidents and Prime Ministers of EU member states.
In truth, itโs the other way around. The Commission is the servant of the EU and not its master.
โ @UKLabourโs manifesto only mentions #Brexit once

ALT Back in December 2020, I ran a story headlined, โEU won't feature in Labour's next manifesto, says Keir Starmerโ.
Few believed it then. But it has come to pass.

WHY BREXIT IS A COLOSSAL MISTAKE, BY SIR JOHN MAJOR
@RishiSunak and @Keir_Starmer don't want to talk about #Brexit. But former PM, Sir John Major, has a lot to say.

ALT Compare what former Prime Minister, Sir John Major, said about Brexit, with what the current Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and likely next monthโs Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, said in the Sky News leadersโ debate last night (Wednesday).
Well, Sunak and Starmer said nothing about Brexit. Thatโs right, nothing.
But Sir John has a lot to say about Brexit. He thinks itโs a โcolossal mistakeโ.
We should be back in the EU to keep Britain safe, Sir John told a Parliamentary committee in February last year.

ALT If the EU did not exist, it's highly likely that the countries and continent of Europe would now be in a far worse situation.
For hundreds of years, European countries were more used to resolving their differences by violence, war, and subjugation.
There was no easy, let alone democratic, means to decide the running and future direction of our continent, as we have now through the EU.
โ Falsely blaming #migrants and the #EU led to #Brexit
The EU was not the cause of any of the problems facing the deprived and forgotten areas of Britain.

ALT The majority vote for Leave was in response to a significant proportion of Britons - mostly in England - feeling forgotten, poorer, with diminished prospects and lower pay in real terms and feeling the pain of savage austerity cuts.
The ten most deprived towns in England voted for Brexit. Thatโs no coincidence.
โ Wake up politicians. Britain doesnโt want #Brexit.

ALT Itโs our duty to speak up and break the silence by our political leaders.
Going ahead with Brexit, with the support of a mere 37% of the electorate and with half the nations of the UK voting strongly against it, was an abomination.
In other democracies with more experience of running referendums properly, Brexit could never have proceeded based on such minority support.
There are NO benefits to Brexit; none whatsoever. Only severe downsides, that are hurting Britain now and will increasingly hurt us in the years ahead.
We need our politicians to offer us a democratic route out of Brexit, not an undemocratic road deeper into it. But neither Labour nor the Tories will even discuss Brexit.
If the two main parties cannot be honest with us about the reality of Brexit, then we, the people, must be honest with the country and with ourselves.
It is our duty to speak up.

ALT In tonightโs BBC election debate (Friday, 7:30pm-9pm BBC One) politicians will again spout nonsense about Britain having too many migrants and how they will pledge to dramatically reduce their numbers.
Nigel Farage will even claim that net migration to the UK should be zero.
But what all our politicians should be saying is, โBritain needs migrants because we donโt have enough British workers to do all the jobs. Letโs welcome them. They are helping our country.โ
Please help to share today's poster and explanatory article far and wide. Knowledge is our best defence, and attack, against the nonsense of Brexit.

ALT On D-Day we remember how brave men and women from many allied countries fought the final battles against the Nazis to bring the most brutal world war to an end in Europe.
Peace came at last as a direct result of their enduring efforts. Tens of thousands of lives were tragically and horribly lost in the pursuit of that aim.
But how was lasting peace achieved between European countries that, for centuries, had been more used to resolving their differences through violence, war, and subjugation?
The European Community, established during the post-war years and now called the European Union, played a key role.
Yes, NATO helped to protect us from external threats. But it was the European Union that brought sustained security and peace between its members.
By collaborating and cooperating, in peace and democratically, to decide on the running and future direction of our continent, European countries found and agreed solutions to common problems.
