Jackie Fielder committed municipal espionage to protect fentanyl dealers. On February 10, 2026 the Board approved the $14 million RESET sobering center — a law-enforcement facility to divert intoxicated people from jail into treatment. Fielder and one other supervisor were the only NO votes. That same day a confidential City Attorney memo warning the center posed “very high legal risk” and could be ruled an unlicensed involuntary detention facility was LEAKED to Mission Local. The memo was privileged legal advice. Exposing it gave lawsuits a roadmap to kill the project and keep dealers on the streets. The LEAK investigation quickly closed in on Fielder’s office. City Attorney David Chiu warned the responsible party could face REMOVAL from office. Supervisor Dorsey threatened censure. This wasn’t politics.
