A break in the weather saw a small team head out to complete our surveys at Narrowneck Artificial Reef and Wavebreak Island, on the Gold Coast. What a great way to kick off December! π¬π±π#allhandsondeck#volunteertoprotect#SaveOurReefs
A small swell greeted our team at Narrowneck and we saw interesting diversity of algae and sponges, along with countless black feather stars. Following a visit by a pod of friendly dolphins, we headed into the shelter of the seaway and swam with the fish at Wavebreak Island.
Thanks to @cityofgoldcoast and Gold Coast Dive Adventures for making these surveys possible π If you want to know how you can help Reef Check Australia, head over to reefcheckaustralia.org to find out more!
For our giving month of December, we wish to showcase some of the awesome brands, groups, businesses, and individuals working together to create a change in the world around us! π
If you are looking for something a little different this year, think about giving an experience rather than a physical gift. We have some beautiful experiences and events to share, so stay tuned!
We work across many different lands, including Yuggera and Turrbal Country where this post was created. We acknowledge that sovereignty over this land was never ceded, and the fight for healthy reefs would not be possible without meaningful collaboration with Traditional Owners.
