This morning the Citywide Digital Library on @Sorareadingapp reached 5 million checkouts! This means 5 million books have been read by @NYCSchools staff and students. This is an amazing win for literacy across the city! Huge shoutout to so many people, including @NYCDOEOLS

We surpassed four million books borrowed from our Citywide Digital Library—a digital library built by school librarians in 2020 for all our public schools.

I'm proud to work with @NYCDOEOLS and support the amazing work they do. They've provided 24/7 access to the Citywide Digital Library on Sora so that all NYC students have access to books. That said, schools should value having a librarian in the building. ny.chalkbeat.org/2023/5/4/23…
